About the Book: /Media and Marginality: Inclusion, Exclusion and Representation/ delves into the intricate relationship between media and marginalised communities. The volume critically examines how social, cultural, and political processes of inclusion and exclusion shape the representation of women, Dalits, Muslims, Tribals, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and ethnic minorities such as the Khasi and Bifran communities.

With contributions from eminent scholars across the globe, the book adopts an interdisciplinary approach that integrates insights from sociology, political science, cultural studies, economics, anthropology, and women’s studies. It not only explores the challenges of representation in contemporary media but also highlights how alternative and community media platforms can serve as sites of resistance and empowerment.

This peer-reviewed volume is an invaluable resource for undergraduate and postgraduate students, doctoral researchers, and academics in media and cultural studies.
