[Commlist] Movie: a journal of film criticism, issue 12 published
Sat May 24 09:44:39 GMT 2025
It is Lucy Fife Donaldson's pleasure to announce that a new rolling
issue of /Movie: a journal of film criticism
<https://warwick.ac.uk/fac/arts/scapvc/film/movie>/ has been launched.
The issue includes a major new article on Vincente Minnelli by Joana
Jacob Ramalho, a new video essay by Henry Rownd, a videographic addition
to the V.F. Perkins dossier by Pete Falconer, and two very remarkable
entries to the ‘Audiovisual Approaches and the Archive’ dossier, one by
Melanie Bell and Catherine Grant on the work of script supervisor Penny
Eyles and another by Jiří Anger, Veronika Hanáková and Jiří Žák: ‘A Tale
of Two Desktops: The First Czech Films in Parallel Worlds’. There is
also a dossier on Teaching the Audiovisual Essay, edited by Tracy
Cox-Stanton and including contributions by Lého Galibert-Laîné, Allison
de Fren, Shane Denson, Steve F. Anderson and John Gibbs. Tracy’s
introduction also shares the exciting news that /The Cine-Files/ has
found a new home with /Movie: a journal of film criticism/.

The journal operates a rolling model and further pieces will be
