The book develops a theory of national identity and the concept of 
'doing nation' to argue that a nation comes into being and is sustained 
through everyday interpersonal communication practices, that have become 
increasingly mediated, and as such represents embodied cultural and 
discursive practices. It is based on 18-month-long ethnographic research 
(including both traditional and digital ethnography) and 40 in-depth 
interviews with Serbian Londoners completed in 2018. The book will ship 
after 31 December 2024.
