[ecrea] new book - The Routledge Companion to Digital Journalism Studies
Fri Nov 04 12:53:26 GMT 2016
Routledge, Taylor and Francis are pleased to announce the publication of
/The Routledge Companion to Digital Journalism Studies/, edited by Bob
Franklin (Cardiff University) and Scott Eldridge II (University of
Groningen) and featuring the work of more than 80 scholars from around
the globe. This volume brings together a range of scholarly work that
looks to address key issues and debates shaping the field of Digital
Journalism Studies.
Across the last decade, journalism has undergone many changes, changes
which have driven scholars to reassess its most fundamental questions,
and in the face of digital change, to ask again: ‘Who is a journalist?’
and ‘What is journalism?’. This volume explores this developing agenda
and the work of scholars committed to understanding digital journalism,
and brings together the work of those seeking to address key theoretical
concerns and solve unique methodological riddles. Compiled of 58
original essays, /The Routledge Companion to Digital Journalism Studies/
unpacks this fundamental reconceptualization of journalism by assessing
the impact it has had on journalism’s products, practices, resources,
and relationship with audiences.
The Companion explores the work in this field across five thematic
categories: Conceptualizing Digital Journalism Studies, Investigating
Digital Journalism, Financial Strategies for Digital Journalism, Digital
Journalism Studies: Issues and Debates, Developing Digital Journalism
Practice, Digital Journalism and Audiences, Digital Journalism and
Social Media, Digital Journalism Content, Global Digital Journalism, and
Future Directions.
