Journalism without headline
The dynamics of social networks reconfigured the interface of news on
the Internet (web and applications). On Twitter and Facebook, for
example, is no longer the headline that determines the importance of the
news, is the buzz. The concept of editing is being deconstructed.
Readers do not follow more editorials, seeking news by hashtags or
journalists profiles, citizens, institutions and media companies, among
others.
In her new work, Journalism without headline | The implosion of the
static page, published by Editora e-book format Senac Sao Paulo, Luciana
Moherdaui presents a long and rigorous analysis sites and portals
formats. It concludes that they are still made by the traditional design
of newspapers: with hierarchy, typesetting and columns when the data
culture imposes a new aesthetic that implodes the static page.
"The Internet, especially social networks and narrative databases,
pushed journalism to a significant change in aesthetics and production:
the interface is no longer just a pager and the news no longer just an
interaction between reporter, editor and director, new social actors are
also involved in the production of content, "says Luciana.
The journalism headline without findings are irreversible, and indicate
that media companies have not dealt well with the transition to the
Internet, particularly for social networks, used as a source of traffic
to portals and websites.
"The book leads to a series of conclusions, such as the loss of the home
page power, and the loss of the headline power, but perhaps the most
important of these is evidence that media companies do not own social
networks, do not control their information flows. There have been
attempts to create their own networks, but it did not work. Not
newspapers logic operate on the network concept, "says Luciana.
