to be held on April 22–23, 2027, in Zagreb, Croatia (Hotel Sheraton).

The conference focuses on the relationship between theory and practice 
in media law, with special emphasis on the Croatian and European context.

Topics include, but are not limited to:

– Implementation of EU regulation (e.g. Digital Services Act)
– Media freedom and political pressures
– Media ownership transparency and concentration
– Intellectual property and artificial intelligence
– Sustainability of local and non-profit media
– Public service broadcasting governance
– Hate speech and disinformation
– Protection of journalistic sources
– Right of reply and correction
– Liability of online platforms
– Media in crisis situations

Notification of acceptance: November 15, 2026

Conference programme: November 15, 2026

Registration fee payment deadline: January 15, 2027

Conference dates: April 22–23, 2027

SUBMISSION

Abstracts (up to 300 words) should be sent to:

Please include: author name, affiliation, e-mail address, and 3–5 keywords.

PUBLICATION

Accepted abstracts will be published in the Book of Abstracts (ISSN).

Selected papers will be considered for publication in the journal 
Medijska istraživanja / Media Research (peer-reviewed).

REGISTRATION FEE

Conference fee: €350

The working languages of the conference and publication are Croatian and 
English.

Full papers should be submitted by July 15, 2027.

Selected papers will undergo peer review, and upon receiving two 
positive reviews, they will be published in the second issue of Medijska 
istraživanja / Media Research in December 2027.

The journal is abstracted in Scopus, Sociological Abstracts (SA), 
Linguistics and Language Behavior Abstracts (LLBA), and Social 
Planning/Policy & Development Abstracts (SOPODA), and is indexed in the 
Current Index to Journals in Education (CIJE).

The journal is fully available in open access through the Hrčak portal 
(1,907,000 views) and on the Media Research website.
