Call for Papers: Special Focus on Nigeria
Journal of Global Perspectives in Communication and Media (JGPCM) (FREE

The Journal of Global Perspectives in Communication and Media (JGPCM) is 
pleased to announce a call for papers for its inaugural issue, with the 
first issue focusing on issues in Nigeria. As an open-access, 
peer-reviewed academic journal, we are committed to fostering innovative 
and impactful scholarship that explores communication, media, and 
cultural dynamics across diverse contexts.

For this issue, we seek submissions that critically engage with the 
unique communication landscapes of Nigeria. Suggested topics include, 
but are not limited to:

Media and governance: Exploring the role of communication in fostering 
transparency and accountability in Nigerian governance.
Digital transformation: The impact of social media and digital platforms 
on Nigeria’s cultural and political discourse.
Indigenous media: The role of local languages and cultural narratives in 
shaping national identity.
Communication and public policy: Case studies on health campaigns, urban 
renewal projects, or public relations strategies in Nigeria.
Journalism and ethics: Examining the challenges and opportunities for 
journalists in a rapidly evolving media environment.
Emerging technologies: The influence of artificial intelligence, virtual 
reality, or blockchain on Nigerian media systems.
Any other perspectives delving into communication or media in Nigeria. 
We welcome submissions that employ diverse methodological approaches, 
including qualitative, quantitative, mixed methods, and theoretical 
explorations. Interdisciplinary perspectives and case studies are highly 
encouraged.

Submission Guidelines:

Manuscripts should not exceed 8,000 words, including references and 
appendices.
All submissions must adhere to APA 7th edition formatting guidelines.
Articles must be original and not under consideration for publication 
elsewhere.

1st Submission Deadline: Dec 20, 2024
Notification of Acceptance: Dec 23 2024
