Wed Aug 21 10:55:24 GMT 2024

Please see below for information on a new edited collection opportunity that Claire Sedgwick and Eun Sun Godwin are seeking chapter contributions for on meaning and meaningfulness of work in the creative industries.

*Submission of author details and abstract outlining the chapter (-250 words): 31st October 2024*

*SUBMISSION GUIDELINES*

This collection is a timely intervention into debates about the meaning of work, equity within the creative industries and the future of work more broadly. This edited collection can also reinvigorate some previous inter-disciplinary conversation between creative industry and management studies addressing issues in creative industry, organisations and workplace as well as experiences of creative workers (e.g., see the Special Issue from Organization, 2017 Vol 24 edited by Finkel, R., Jones, D., Sang, K. and Russell, D.S.).

The collection will focus on three key areas:
1. How work is conceptualised by creative workers
2. How creative work interacts with neoliberal capitalism (or neoliberalism)
3. The impact of marginalisation on the meaning of work for creative workers.

We anticipate that the edited collection will be highly interdisciplinary in scope and therefore welcome submissions from scholars from Sociology, Geography, Cultural Studies, Management Studies, Media and Communication, Film, Creative and Cultural Industries, though this list is not exhaustive.

Please submit the author details and abstract (max 250 words) via MS form link below:

The deadline for abstract submissions is 31st October 2024.
Please do contact us if you have any queries at (e.godwin /at/ wlv.ac.uk) (Eun Sun Godwin) and (c.sedgwick /at/ tees.ac.uk) (Claire Sedgwick).
