AFPREA ABUJA 2015
CALL FOR PROPOSALS AND PAPERS
AFPREA Conference
13-15 April 2015Abuja
Nigeria
The conference is open to African scholars and non-African scholars
whose research interests focus on Africa.
The Quest for Peace and Security in Africa: Socio-cultural, Economic,
political and Legal Considerations
The search for peace and security in Africa has been and should remain a
constant aspiration and ultimate goal for all brave women and men on the
continent and beyond. Politicians, academics, civil society and
ordinary citizens alike ought to work towards restating and implementing
peaceful solutions to different conflicts. Trans-national, national,
regional and international, and grassroots organizations, institutions,
and associations, are striving to enact a positive peace process in
order to resolve pending conflicts wherever they exist. As such, we
members of Africa Peace Research and Education Association – the
regional wing of the International Peace Research Association (IPRA) –
are concerned with the plight of our people in Africa.
Our conference, to be held on 13-15 April 2015 in Abuja, Nigeria, is
driven by the theme The Quest for Peace and Security in Africa:
Socio-cultural, economic, political and legal considerations. Please
note that, for the avoidance of doubt, the conference is open to
researchers and practitioners, serious-minded policy-makers, and those
who ask questions pertaining to governmental and corporate policies.
