Since the early years of cinema, children’s films have been enchanting 
their audiences with magical moments, lovely characters, and exciting 
stories. They are significant sources of social and cultural experience 
and an important part of cinematic culture to date. But, despite their 
long tradition and relevance to children, scientific research on 
children’s films is somehow limited - or maybe not? In light of this 
question, the University of Erfurt together with the University of 
Tübingen and in cooperation with KIDS Regio is organizing the first 
European Conference on Children’s Film that focuses on children’s film 
as a multidisciplinary object of scientific research. Scholars from 
various parts of Europe will present and discuss their work on 
children’s films. Subsequent to all presentations, all participants are 
invited to discuss jointly about the future of children’s film research 
especially in Europe in order to establish the European Conference on 
Children’s Film as a regular scientific event.

To participate in the ECCF please register by e-mail to 
*(franziska.matthes /at/ uni-erfurt.de)* until *31th May, 2014*. Thereupon, you 
will receive a registration confirmation. All participants have to pay a 
conference fee of 30.00 € within seven days after receipt of the 
registration confirmation. The conference fee includes the conference 
material as well as foods and drinks during the day.
