Tue Jan 28 14:46:44 GMT 2014

The Carsey-Wolf Center's Media Industries Project is hosting a conference, /Dirty Sexy Policy/, featuring conversations about media policy in the digital age. This *free* and open-to-the-public event at the University of California, Santa Barbara will bring together scholars, journalists, attorneys, regulators, and activists to discuss the regulation of obscenity, indecency, and broadband infrastructure. The full schedule for the conference is below.

/Dirty Sexy Policy/ has been organized around a moderated question-and-answer format, and it will feature two incredible keynote speakers at the Pollock Theater on the UCSB campus: former FCC Commissioner Nicholas Johnson on *Thursday, 2/20 at 5 p.m.*, and Des Freedman of Goldsmiths in London on *Friday, 2/21 at 9:30 a.m.* More information about all conference participants and a link to register to attend the free conference may be found on our website: http://www.carseywolf.ucsb.edu/mip/article/dsp.

We hope you will be able to join us! Feel free to share with your students and anyone else who may be interested to attend.

Sincerely,

Constance Penley, Professor of Film and Media Studies and Co-Director of the Carsey-Wolf Center, UC Santa Barbara
