REMINDER - CFP: II International Conference on Gender and Communication
Gender and communication studies researchers with diverse disciplinary
approaches are invited to participate as speakers at the II
International Conference on Gender and Communication, which will be held
at the School of Communication of the University of Seville (Spain) on 2
and 3 April 2014.
This conference is organised by the University of Seville in
collaboration with other academic and social institutions dedicated to
the defence of women’s rights and gender and communication studies. The
conference will be carried out in English and Spanish and will feature
the participation of prestigious international speakers.
Researchers interested in submitting communication papers, must first
send an abstract, which must fit the thematic scope of the Conference:
1. Representation of male and female identities in the media.
2. Analysis of the discourses about gender identities presented in the
media or any other communicative contexts (like social networks,
education, etc).
3. Co-education of minors and young people through gender equality
communication.
4. Treatment and prevention of domestic violence through education and
communication.
5. Critical analysis of the reality and representation of gender roles
in work, social, economic and scientific environments.
6. Women’s contributions to technology, science and economy.
7. Philosophical and anthropological studies on gender identity across
cultures.
8. Women in public spaces and women’s initiatives to defend their rights.
Submission
The reception of abstracts (500-word limit) for paper proposals will
remain open until 15 January 2014.
The deadline to send the full and final version of the accepted
communication papers is 28 February 2014. Accepted communication papers
will be included in the conference proceedings, which will be published
in a digital format by a prestigious publisher.
