> This is the second CFA for an upcoming issue of the
> journal Academic Quarter on the theme of ICON in literature, film, media

> Issue 10 of Academic Quarter on the topic of Icon aims to bring together
> scholars from at least the following fields: Imagology, cultural
> semiotics, star studies, fashion studies, film and media history, art
> history, literary history, and cultural studies to initiate an
> exploration of the phenomenon of cultural iconicity. Scholars from other
> fields of humanistic research are welcome to contribute as well. We seek
> contributions analyzing the phenomenon of cultural iconicity in the
> following areas of study: literature, music, art, fashion, film and
> other visual media, including photography. We seek both papers that
> contribute further to the theorization of the field and its concepts,
> and (primarily) papers that offer analyses of specific cases of cultural
> iconicity.
> For the purpose of this issue we propose the following definition of a
