In the next issue of Open Citizenship, we will take a closer look at =
mobility in the European Union. Since the European Economic Community =
was created to allow free movement of workers, the concept of mobility =
has changed. Today, the EU allows for free movement of citizens from all =
Member States within its borders and utilises mobility programmes to =
enhance EU identity. At the same time, citizens=E2=80=99 increased =
mobility leads to new challenges concerning voting rights, social rights =
or international marriage and divorce laws. Possible topics to be =
addressed include:

=E2=80=A2	how local, regional and national authorities =
address these challenges
=E2=80=A2	analysis of policy instruments that enhance =
cross-border mobility
=E2=80=A2	differences in mobility between EU citizens and =
third-country nationals
=E2=80=A2	how mobility challenges the concept of identity, =
citizenship and nation state
=E2=80=A2	borders, Schengen and the limits of free =
movement
