- CALL FOR PAPERS
- IAMCR 2011 Conference to be held in Istanbul

- The Journalism Research & Education
Section invites submissions for its open sessions at the IAMCR that
will be held Kadir Has University will host the 2011 IAMCR Conference in
Istanbul, Turkey, July 13-17 2011. The theme for the 2011 conference will
be 'Cities, Connectivity and Creativity'

- We need to start thinking more creatively about what we are going to
do in the volatile future, by finding new motives and opportunities to
produce really creative change in the field of journalism research and
education. It is thus mandatory to build resilience into our field. This
year JRE invites its members to think creatively and holistically about
solving problems of the journalism research and education that transcend
borders.

- It is thus imperative to analyze the different perspectives of
creativity, vitality and competitively within urban contexts to provide
the appropriate structural conditions necessary for the development of
journalism research and education.

- The current historical moments of contingency offer the opportunity
to reform journalism institutions, curricula and education makes this
year’s theme a chance to be prepared and resilient in order to rebuild,
and improve the journalism research and education.

- The Journalism Research & Education Section invites papers
within the general theme of 'Cities, Connectivity and Creativity' and
by following one of the JRE Section covers five main themes:
- First Themes: International Collaborative Research in Journalism
Research: New Challenges and Emergent Perspectives.
- Second Theme: Innovations in Journalism:
- Third Theme: The Professional Journalism:
- Fourth Theme: Methods for Quantifying Professional Journalism:
- Fifth Theme: Generic Studies of Journalism:

- The Journalism Research & Education Section is opened for
panel proposals. Research paper proposal and panel proposals should be
sent only through the Conference website, and send another copy to the
JRE Section Chair. Proposals should not exceed 500 words including
the research objectives, theoretical framework and methodology. Each
proposal must include title, name(s), affiliation, institutional address
and email address of author(s).

- The deadlines are as follows:

Submission of abstracts: January 31,
2011 (papers will be assessed and provisionally accepted on the basis of
the abstracts).
- ·
Announcement of acceptances: March 15,
2011
- ·
Full papers due: April 30, 2011

- IAMCR accepts presentations in English, French and Spanish. However,
it is requested that abstracts, if at all possible, be submitted in
English. Please refer to the JRE website for guidelines

- Authors interested in the Journalism Research & Education
Section on-line publication will be requested to send their full
papers after final modifications no later than September 2011. The review
process includes a blind referee process of six members (steering
committee) will review the research papers to optimize the quality of
research in the best objective and professional level.
