The Eighth Annual Meeting of the Cultural Studies Association (U.S.)
at
University of California, Berkeley

With the awareness that we are beginning en
media res and that we are working with a binary
system that currently is not capable of
providing an accurate appraisal of process nor
product, this division hopes to be able to
provide support and forum for those interested
in constructing a model for thinking globally,
and exploring what that means, without reifying
old distinctions.We are accepting either a panel
presentation or a workshop proposal on the following topics:
*Theorizing points of contact
*Performative systems in flux
· Individual Papers Proposals please include:
o The name, email address, department and
institutional affiliation of each
presenter and for the session chair (who may or may not be also a presenter).
o A 500-word abstract each paper
o A request for audio-visual equipment. Late requests cannot be honored.
· Paper Panel (will include 3 or 4 presenters): please include:
o The name, email address, department and
institutional affiliation of each presenter and
for the session chair (who may or may not be also a presenter).
o A 500-word abstract of each paper.
o A title for the session
o A request for audio-visual equipment. Late requests cannot be honored.
· Workshops are sessions in which
panelists offer brief remarks, but the bulk of
the session is devoted to discussion among the
panelists and audience members. No paper titles need be included. Do include:
o A title for the session
o The names, email addresses, and
department and institutional affiliations of each participant including a chair
o A request for audio-visual equipment. Late requests cannot be honored.
