Call for Papers – Special Edition in 2006
Special Issue:
“Indigenous cultures and diffusion of innovations”
Guest Editors:
Professor Jan Servaes & Dr Levi Obijiofor,
School of Journalism and Communication, University of Queensland, Australia.
Manuscripts are invited for a special edition of the International Journal of Agricultural Resources, Governance and Ecology (IJARGE) in 2006. This special issue will examine and analyse Indigenous cultures and diffusion of innovations in relation to:
- developments in the agricultural sector, including innovations and sustainable agricultural practices in Indigenous societies;
- use of new communication technologies in Indigenous societies;
- governance, participation and self-empowerment;
- intellectual property rights of Indigenous peoples;
- land preservation practices and ecological sustainability; etc., etc.
The guest editors would also welcome scholarly manuscripts that explore any other issues that relate to the objectives of IJARGE. The objectives of IJARGE are “to establish an effective channel of communication between policy makers, government agencies, academic and research institutions and persons concerned with the complex role of agriculture in society. It also aims to promote and coordinate developments in the field of agricultural resources. The international dimension is emphasised in order to overcome cultural and national barriers and to meet the needs of accelerating technological and ecological change and changes in the global economy.”
SUBMISSION SCHEDULE:
- Abstracts should reach the guest editors by Friday, 29 July 2005. Length of abstract: 200 words or less.
- Full paper by Monday, 31 October 2005. Length of full paper: 6,000 words.
