[ecrea] Abstracts for the Internet of Toys conference

*Call for abstracts extended for the INTERNET OF TOYS PRECONFERENCE until 19th Nov, 2018*

Come and join us in Manchester UK for the Internet of Toys (Digitising Early Childhood) Pre-conference held on Wednesday 6 March, 2019 at the Manchester Conference Centre. It will be held the day before DigiLitEY's Manchester Conference. This pre-conference is about the emerging world of internet-connected toys (Internet of Toys or IoToys), where toys relate one-on-one to children and also connect to other toys, other children and/or database data about children and connected toys.

The call for abstracts and symposia proposals is now open until the 19th November 2018. See submission guidelines below. Peer reviewed full conference papers will be published and high level papers will be further published in a special issue journal and/or chaptered book.

Topics may include, but are by no means restricted to, the following:

·Digital toy literacies at home and school

·Research methods and the IoToys

·Policies, regulations and guidelines

·Children and their data

·Child robot interactions

·Children’s online presence via connected toys

·Representations of the Internet of Toys

Timeline

·Abstracts Due: 19th November 2018

·Abstract Acceptance: 1st December 2018

·Preconference: 6th March 2019

·Submission guidelines

Abstracts need to include:

·Title of paper,

·Presenter's details (each author and their institutional affiliation), and

·400 word abstract.

Abstracts for symposia should contain:

·title of symposium,

·presenters’ / discussants’ details,

·200 word overview of the symposium, and

·200 word abstract for each paper.
