*Tenure-Track Faculty Position – Communication*

Drexel University’s Department of Communication invites applications for
a full-time tenure-track advanced assistant professor starting on
September 1, 2016.

The Department seeks candidates whose research and teaching focus on
critical approaches to public relations. The candidate should not only
demonstrate strength in basic and advanced public relations principles –
for example, branding and crisis communications – and be able to teach
our core public relations courses, he or she should also consider the
nexus between public relations and critical approaches to advertising,
promotional and/or consumer culture. A secondary focus in social media
and/or social movements is especially desirable. We seek to hire an
advanced assistant professor who is an emerging leader in the field, and
who would be tenurable within three years.

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Communication or a related field with a
focus in public relations. The applicant must provide evidence of
teaching excellence at the university level, and demonstrate an active
research agenda.

With more than 300 majors, the Department of Communication houses
several dynamic programs including B.S. and B.A. programs in
Communication, with degree tracks in Public Relations, Technical &
Science Communication, and Journalism.In addition, we offer professional
M.S. programs in Public, Technical and Science Communication. Faculty
may participate in an interdisciplinary Ph.D. degree in Communication,
Culture, and Media (CCM).
