Dear Colleagues: kindly find below a call for application for 2 opening
positions in communication and don't hesitate to forward in your networks.
As part of a major expansion of its research programs in Communication,
the Faculty of Arts at the University of Ottawa invites applications for
two tenure-track faculty positions; one in *Public Relations *and the
second in *International Communication and Digital Media*.
*Title of the positions*: Assistant Professor
*Duties*: The functions of a member of the academic staff include, in
varying proportions: a) teaching activities; b) scholarly activities
revealed by research or professional work; c) academic service
activities; d) supervision of graduate students.
*Terms*: Tenure-track position
*Salary*: The salary scale for an Assistant Professor starts at $77,379.00
*Benefits package*: The University of Ottawa provides a complete
compensation package which includes long term disability, basic group
life insurance, supplementary health insurance, University of Ottawa
Pension Plan and optional life insurance.

*Skill requirements:*
Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Communication (preferred) or in a
related field.
Candidates must have an excellent record of research and peer-reviewed
publications in Public Relations or Marketing Communication.
Candidates must have an excellent knowledge of theories in Public
Relations and/or Marketing Communication.
Preference will be given to candidates developing a research program
relating to the digital ecosystem.
Candidates must be able to teach in English or in French at the time
of hire and must possess a passive understanding of the other official
language. Active bilingualism at the time of hire is an asset and is
required in order to receive tenure
Experience in teaching preferred.
Experience supervising masters and doctoral students would be an asset.
*# 2 International Communication and Digital Media.*
*Skill Requirements:*
Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Communication (preferred) or in a
related field.
Candidates must have an excellent record of research and peer-reviewed
publications in International Communication and Digital Media.
Candidates must have an excellent knowledge of contemporary approaches
in International Communication as well as Digital Media.
Preference will be given to candidates developing a research program
that relates to globalization in media ecosystems and digital platforms.
Preference will be given to candidates using quantitative methods in
their research program.
Candidates must be able to teach in English or in French at the time
of hire and must possess a passive understanding of the other official
language. Active bilingualism at the time of hire is an asset and is
required in order to receive tenure
Experience in teaching preferred.
Experience supervising masters and doctoral students would be an asset.
