[ecrea] CFP: Uprisings, Politics and Emotions Workshop

Sat May 24 21:30:34 GMT 2014

Uprisings, Politics and Emotions

A Participatory Workshop

**NEW DEADLINE: June 18, 2014**

Hosted by the seaside at:
Bournemouth University
Thursday July 10 – Friday July 11

From Caracas to Kiev, from Myanmar to Madrid, we are living in a time of global uprisings. Images of smoke filled streets and cities up in flames dart around the world, populating news reports and twitter feeds. Fear, hope, terror, relief, trauma. These uprisings teem with emotion. Their affects are contagious, their indignation infectious. They bring with them new cooperative political formations, as well as new manifestations of fascism and repression. This participatory workshop brings together researchers wanting to contextually understand these different uprisings. For more information on the event please visit:http://protestcamps.org/events/upcoming-politics-and-emotions/
