[ecrea] Call for Visiting Scholar Applications

The Annenberg School of Communication's Center for Global Communication Studies at the University of
Pennsylvania is seeking applications for its Spring 2015, Fall 2015, and Spring
2016 Visiting Scholar Program. Non-tenured professors, post-doctoral
researchers, and advanced graduate students from around the world are welcome
to apply to the program which will allow them to collaborate on research at
CGCS and participate in the intellectual life of the Annenberg School. Scholars
are expected to engage with Annenberg faculty and students, attend events and
colloquia at the Annenberg School, present their research at a seminar, and
produce a short research paper as a result of their stay.

Applicants will be judged based on the quality of their research and relevance to CGCS
research programs. Priority will be given to applicants from outside of the United States.


CGCS Now Offering Visiting Researcher Scholarships:
CGCS is also offering a limited number scholarships of up to $5000 USD to offset the costs of
travel and living expenses.  The stipend amount will vary based on an
applicant's proposed duration of visit, and should largely cover a stay of
2-3 months (for living and/or travel expenses). However, if scholars are able
to secure additional funding, full year participation is also an option.

Application Deadlines:
Applications are now open for Spring 2015, Fall 2015 and Spring 2016.
-The deadline for all Spring 2015 applications is November 15, 2014.
-The deadline for all Fall 2015 applications is January 1, 2015.
-The deadline for all Spring 2016 applications is April 30, 2015.

Applicants are required to provide a CV, statement of interest and research proposal, a short
essay based on prompts, and a description of how you intend to secure or
supplement funding for your stay. There is a $75 application fee.
