Colleagues:   Apologies for cross-posting.  This message contains new
information about the upcoming election of the first set of eight members of
the International Environmental Communication Association (IECA) Board of
Directors.

Updates:

1.  IECA now has 95 Founding members and three organizational/institutional
members from 22 different countries.  If you would like to become a Founding
member, visit our web site at http://environmentalcomm.org, click on "become
a Founding member," and follow directions from there.  The web site also
lists the names of the founding members.  Thanks again for your support!

2.  The self-nomination process for Board of Director candidates is closed.
Thank you to the 23 individuals from 8 countries self-nominated, including
individuals from:

Australia (1)
Bermuda (1)
India (1)
Indonesia (1)
Netherlands (1)
Phillipines (1)
Portugal (1)
South Korea (1)
Spain (1)
Sweden (2)
UK (4)
USA (8)

Information about the 23 candidates, including statements of interest and
biographical profiles (listed in alphabetical order), can be found by going
to http://environmentalcomm.org and clicking on the "Elections" tab.   The
list of candidates also appears on the front page of the "Indications" blog
(http://indications.wordpress.com/). Please take a look at this impressive
set of candidates.

3.  Voter registration for the upcoming IECA election is open.   Between now
and April 22 (Earth Day), anyone who is interested (whether you are a
Founding member or not) can go to http://environmenalcomm.org, click on
"register to vote," and register by logging in a valid name and e-mail
address.  Once registration closes, on April 23 those who have registered
will receive an e-mail message containing a link to an on-line ballot.  This
link can be used only once.  Voting will be open from April 23 to May 15.
Top eight vote getters will become members of the first IECA Board of
Directors, and will be inducted at the COCE conference in El Paso TX at the
end of June.
