The School of Communication at Simon Fraser University invites
applications for a
tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the
area of Global
Communication and Social Justice.
Qualified candidates should have a Ph.D. with research
specialization in one or
more of the following fields: communication rights and legal and
policy activism
around world communication issues; critical assessment of
conceptual assumptions,
institutions and policies related to technology, science and international
development; alternate and new media practices and social advocacy
in the Global
South. Area research in South Asia, Africa or Latin America, and
experience in
applied research or advocacy would be assets. Ability to teach research
methodology related to these fields would also be considered an advantage.
