Announcing New Journal and Call for Papers

TRANSNATIONAL CINEMA

AIMS & SCOPE:
Transnational Cinemas is a new, internationally refereed Intellect journal. Our
journal aims to break down traditional geographical divisions in Film Studies
and we welcome submissions from around the world that reflect the global
nature of film cultures. The editors are seeking articles, interviews, visual
essays, reports on film festivals and conferences.

Possible research topics include (but are not limited to):
? Modes of production, distribution and exhibition
? Co-productions and collaborative networks
? New technologies and changing patterns of consumption
? Transnational film theories
? Migration, journeying and other forms of border-crossing
? Exilic and diasporic filmmaking
? Transnational film and language
? Questions of authorship and stardom
? Cross-fertilisation and cultural exchange
? Indigenous cinema and video and the cinemas of ethnic minorities
? Cultural policy
? The ethics of transnationalism
? Historical transnational practices
? Interrelationships between the local, national and the global
? Transnational and postcolonial politics

ARTICLE SUBMISSIONS:
Articles should be between 6,000 and 8,000 words in length and should follow
the
Harvard referencing system, and be written in English, with all quotations
translated.
Submit your article as an e-mail attachment in Word format.

Your submission must include the following information on a separate page:
? Article title
? Your name
? An abstract of about 150 words
? Up to 6 key words
? A short biography in the third person (no more than 3 sentences)
? Your institutional affiliation, including department, and address
? E-mail address (please indicate if you do not wish this to be published)
