The World Bank, Global Alliance for Workers and Communities and CSR Wire
                 invite you to participate in the e-conference
                  "Media and Corporate Social Responsibility"
                           to be held on the Internet
                        from March 29 to April 16, 2004.

This e-conference is intended to bring together the perspectives and
experiences
 of specialized reporters, mainstream reporters, editors, policy-makers,
global
   brands, factory owners, media owners, media analysts and academics and a)
  discuss role of media in CSR, elicit input from different stakeholders,
map
expectations and hear directly from reporters and editors themselves;b)
broaden
 the pool of journalists covering CSR-related issues (from specialized press
to
 mainstream reporters who regularly follow different sustainability/
business,
  environment and development stories); c) address barriers to covering CSR
as
                       seen from different perspectives.

               The discussion will be organized around 3 themes:

    ·     What is the role of the media in Corporate Social Responsibility?
    ·     Promoting transparency & access to credible sources of information
 ·     Barriers to covering Corporate Social Responsibility in mainstream
media

  A new topic for discussion will be introduced each week. Each topic will
be
moderated by experts from leading news papers, academic centers,
practitioners,
                       and/or from development agencies.
