Conference on "Social and Human Capital in the Knowledge Society" in October 


A conference on the policy implications of the Social and Human Capital in the Knowledge Society will be held in Brussels next 28 and 29 October. Participants include representatives of the European Institutions, international organisations, EU Member States and accession countries, social partners, NGOs, industry and research. 

The conference will notably aim at striking a balance between expectations and realities in the European knowledge society, drawing the political consequences of the emerging trends for employment and social policies. 

On the basis of accession countries experience, the conference programme will also focus on the knowledge society in an enlarged Europe, fostering an interdisciplinary approach to social and human capital issues.
