Intellect is pleased to present Journal of Alternative & Community Media
issues 9.2 & 10.1!
Issue 9.2
This issue of the Journal of Alternative and Community Mediaexplores the
expanding conceptual and geographic landscape of alternative and
community media. While historically aligned with progressive movements,
democratization and marginalized voices, recent scholarship expands this
narrative by acknowledging the field’s growing ideological diversity.
Issue 10.1
In this issue of the Journal of Alternative and Community Media, authors
reflect on the practices, challenges and possibilities of alternative
and community media in contemporary communication landscapes. Positioned
at the intersections of activism, civic participation and cultural
expression, these media amplify marginalized voices and sustain
democratic engagement, while grappling with structural constraints such
as financial precarity, regulatory pressures and platform dominance.
