Job vacancy: Research Associate (50%)
The ZeMKI, University of Bremen invites applications for a position as
research associate in the working group/lab of Prof. Dr. Andreas Hepp.
The University of Bremen invites applications for the following position
at the ZeMKI, Centre for Media, Communication and Information
Research/Department 9 – Cultural Studies – in the working group/lab of
Prof. Dr. Andreas Hepp for a duration of 3 years and under the reserve
of the approval of the funds:
Research Associate-EG 13 TV-L- 50%
The main research areas focus a.o. on deep mediatization of culture and
society, particularly with respect to digitalization and datafication as
well as current pioneer communities.
Tasks:
Independent research in connection with a doctoral projects in the
amount of a third of the actual work time. The scientific research work
in one of above-mentioned areas ought to be deepened in the doctoral
project.
Academic services in research in the amount of a third of the actual
work time:
• Assistance in the research projects of the working group/lab
• Preparation and realization of academic conferences
• Assistance/writing of publications• Assistance in fund raising for
research projects
• Support of academic self-administration
Academic services in teaching in the amount of 2 semester hours or a
third of the actual work time:
• Implemention of seminars
• Preparation of learning materials
• Preliminary correction of tests
• Support of the supervision of seminar works, term papers,
presentations and Bachelor or Master theses
Qualification requirements:
• Completion of a master degree (above average) in communication and
media studies or a neighbouring discipline.
• Sound method training (especially with respect to qualitative methods
and digital methods),
• Previous knowledge or high interest in the above-mentioned main
research areas.
• Willingness to pursue a doctoral project (dissertation thesis) in the
above-mentioned areas.
• Very good German and English language skills in in speech and writing.
• High engagement and individual intiative, ability to work in a team,
thorough and realiable way of working.
• Willingness to assist in the academic self-administration,
• Willingness to teach according to the rules of teaching obligation and
proof of teaching (LVNV)
The limitation of the post follows the regulation for academic
qualification in accordance with § 2 Abs. 1 WissZeitVG
(Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz). Therefore, only applicants can be
considered who still have a sufficient amount of qualification time left
in accordance to § 2 Abs. 1 WissZeitVG.
The University of Bremen intends to increase the proportion of women in
