[Commlist] Biennial Conference on Communication and Environment 2027 Call for Proposals

The International Environmental Communication Association (IECA) is 
pleased to announce that proposals are now being accepted for the 19th 
Biennial Conference on Communication and Environment (COCE 2027).

*Seeking Refuge: Communicating Care in an Age of Adaptation, Migration, 
and Changing Ecologies* invites us to consider what refuge means in a 
time of profound ecological and social change. The conference theme 
encourages participants to examine how communication can foster care, 
belonging, resilience, and collective action while challenging us to 
rethink the ways we understand adaptation, migration, justice, and our 
relationships with human and more-than-human communities.

COCE 2027 will be held *from June 21 to 25, 2027*, in Salt Lake City, 
Utah, USA, and online. The event will gather scholars, practitioners, 
artists, students, and activists worldwide. Whether attending in person 
or virtually, participants can exchange research and creative work, 
engage in interdisciplinary discussions, form new collaborations, and 
reinforce ties within the global environmental communication community.

This year's conference is hosted through a collaboration among the 
*University of Utah, Utah Valley University, and Utah State University*. 
These institutions combine expertise in environmental humanities, 
communication, community-engaged scholarship, and interdisciplinary 
research, creating a vibrant environment for conversation, learning, and 
collaboration.
