[Commlist] Call for Papers — Journal of Language, Media and Society (Open Access, New Journal)

We are pleased to announce the launch of the Journal of Language, Media 
and Society (JLMS), a new open access, double-blind peer-reviewed 
journal publishing interdisciplinary research at the intersection of 
language, media, and society.

Our inaugural issue (Vol. 1, No. 1, Spring 2026) is now available online 
at journaloflms.org, featuring research on topics including digital 
media discourse, anti-racism communication, and language policy.

CALL FOR PAPERS — Vol. 1, No. 2

We welcome submissions across a range of formats:
- Original research articles (6,000–9,000 words)
- Theoretical essays and critical reflections (3,000–6,000 words)
- Book reviews and commentaries (1,500–3,000 words)
- Special issue proposals

JLMS is fully open access with no article processing charges at this 
time. DOIs are assigned to all published articles.

We particularly welcome work that engages with global, transnational, 
and non-Western perspectives, and research that challenges dominant 
frameworks in media and communication studies.
