The Centre for Media and Journalism Studies (University of Groningen,
The Netherlands) will be hosting the 4th International Conference on
Literary & Film Tourism. This conference is organized in collaboration
with the CETT Barcelona School of Tourism, Hospitality and Gastronomy
(University of Barcelona, Spain), the School of Management, Hospitality
and Tourism (University of the Algarve, Portugal), and the University of
Caxias do Sul (Brazil). We invite researchers, professionals, and
students to submit their research on the following, but not exclusive,
thematic lines:
• Heritage, identity and representation in literary and film tourism
• Governance and collaboration across literary and film tourism contexts
• Communities and participation in literary and film tourism
• Sustainability and territorial development through literary and film
tourism
• Geography, landscapes, routes, and tourism experiences
• Innovation and digital transformation
• Emerging perspectives in literary and film tourism
• Educational experiences in literary and film tourism
Guidelines
The conference welcomes two types of submissions:
• Presentations: A 300-word abstract that includes the title,
objective(s), methodology, results, conclusions, and a list of at least
5 references (these are not included in the word-count). Moreover, each
submission should include a 80-word short bio per author that includes
the authors’ names and affiliations. Note that each author must complete
an individual registration and pay the applicable conference fee (i.e.
pay the individual fee).
• Pre-constituted panels: Each panel will consist of 4 up to 5
presentations on a common topic. The panel coordinator should submit a
document with the title of the panel, a 300-word description of the
same, the individual 300-word abstract with the 80-word short-bio per
author. We recommend no more than two speakers from the same
institution. Note that each panellist must register in the conference
individually (i.e. pay the individual fee).
Each participant may submit up to two submissions, either as sole author
or in co-authorship.

Conference language: English
Fees
Registration (from November 1st to December 1st). Please note that there
will be a single registration period.
Presenters: 150 euros
Co-authors: 30 euros
Undergraduate students, graduate students and PhD candidates: 80 euros
Participants requiring institutional payment are kindly asked to arrange
this process in advance.
The congress registration fee includes participation in the congress,
coffee breaks
during the congress, participation certificates, and congress documentation.
A conference dinner will be organized; please note that participation in
the dinner is optional and costs are not included in the conference fee.
