[Commlist] CFP: Vulnerable, Marginal and Precarious Bodies of Asian Media Panel (AAS in Asia 2025)

Call for Papers: Vulnerable, Marginal, and Precarious Bodies of Asian 
Media Panel at AAS in Asia 2025

We invite scholars to submit proposals for the AAS in Asia 2025 panel on 
"Vulnerable, Marginal, and Precarious Bodies of Asian Media," which aims 
to explore how bodies are marked by vulnerability, marginality, and 
precarity in both on-screen representations and behind-the-scenes labor 
in the Asian media industry.

Topics may include but are not limited to:

Marginalized labor in Asian media industries

Gender, sexuality, and precarity in media

Representation of disabled and fat bodies

Decolonizing media scholarship in Asia

AI technologies and body politics in media


We encourage interdisciplinary submissions, especially those that engage 
with communication and media studies. Early career scholars are strongly 
encouraged to apply. No payment from authors will be required.

Deadline: 22nd October, 2024

Submission: Please send a 250-300 word abstract and a 50-100 word bio to
