I am delighted to announce that registration for the inaugural COSME 
conference is now open. *'Weddings and Funerals': The UK Screen 
Industries in a Global Context (1994-2024)* aims to aims to examine the 
ways the UK screen industries have been integrated into the structures 
of global media production, distribution and exhibition/retail, as well 
as the extent to which important shifts, initiatives and developments, 
whose origins can be mapped on to specific points during that period, 
have had a lasting and significant legacy in the UK screen media market.
Besides featuring keynote addresses from both academic and media 
professionals, as well as panels consisting of scholars who responded to 
our call for papers, COSME is also delighted to participate in the event 
through a roundtable consisting of members of the Centre who will debate 
some of the ways in which various UK screen industries responded to 
development in the global media industries more broadly.
