[Commlist] CfP: IX Congress in Cultural Studies

The submission period for papers and performances for the IX Congress in
Cultural Studies, which will take place on November 13, 14 and 15, 2024,
at the Department of Languages and Cultures (DLC) of the University of
Aveiro, in Portugal, is open from April 5 to May 15. The event is
organized by the Gender and Performance Group (GECE) and the Centre for
Studies in Culture and Leisure (NECO) of the Centre for Languages,
Literatures and Cultures (CLLC) and the Doctoral Programme in Cultural
Studies at the University of Aveiro (Portugal).
The 9th International Congress on Cultural Studies will address the
theme of Culture, Activism and Cultural Change. We intend to focus on
the points of collaboration, inflection and friction that this theme
involves, debating the intrinsic controversies, both from an
epistemological, political and academic point of view.
While accepting any suggestion for production that fits within the scope
of the IX Congress in Cultural Studies: Activisms and Cultural Changes,
we seek works in the following thematic areas:

* *Rise of activists to celebrity status (for example, through social
media);**

* *Artificial Intelligence and the future of activisms;**

* *The role of Non-Profit Organizations in Activisms;**

* *Transnational Networks in activisms;**

* *Festivals, fairs, and celebrations of activisms;**

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION
Abstracts of papers and performances with up to 4 (four) co-authors can
be submitted. Proposals must be submitted in one of the two official
languages of the event, Portuguese and English, and include the
following elements: title; abstract of up to 600 words; up to 5
keywords; authors; institutional affiliation; form of presentation.
Each author may submit a maximum of 3 papers.
The deadline for receiving abstracts is May 15. The abstract must be
sent using the form provided. The result of the evaluation by the
Scientific Committee will be communicated by e-mail on June 31.
