Tue Sep 15 16:16:31 GMT 2020

Estudos de Jornalismo, n. 12 (2020)

Thematic edition on “Teaching Journalism”

Deadline for paper submission: October 31

In this edition of the “Estudos de Jornalismo” [Journalism Studies] journal, we propose to take a look at the challenges that face the teaching of journalism, pre- and post-pandemic. The proposal is to think about how future journalists should be trained, as well as other actors who intervene in the news construction process. For this issue, unpublished works are accepted that present research results and / or theoretical reflection on, among others:

- Teaching journalism in national and international contexts, namely in the Lusophone context;

- Journalist training processes;

- The appearance of new actors and their formation;

- Training journalists as agents of media literacy;

- Breaks and continuities in training in journalism;

- Covid-19 as a challenge to journalism training.

“Estudos de Jornalismo” also accepts articles outside the thematic scope of this edition, as long as they fit within the scope of the magazine.

Articles must be submitted through the email (revistaestudosjornalismo /at/ gmail.com) <mailto:(revistaestudosjornalismo /at/ gmail.com)>, as well as any questions.

Publication rules and other instructions for authors can be found in the appropriate section.

“Estudos de Jornalismo” is an open acess scientific journal of the Journalism and Society section of SOPCOM (Portuguese Association of Communication Sciences) with a biannual edition. The journal publishes unpublished works that present research results and / or theoretical reflection in the scope of Communication Sciences, with a special focus on Journalism. The journal accepts scientific research papers, reviews and critical essays in Portuguese, Spanish and English with no fee charge to authors.
