This symposium provides a space for the interdisciplinary exploration of the complexities of nationhood and national identity. In recent years we have seen a rapid and deepening concern with the ways in which time and memory are implicated in processes of social and cultural change, particularly in relation to the role of media and communications technologies in personal, cultural and political domains. While research in this area has been dominated by narratives of acceleration the aim of this symposium is to take a more nuanced look at the various kinds of temporal experiences supported under the conditions of rapid change. See https://www.lborolondon.ac.uk/news-events/events/mobile-time-nations-communication-social-change/for more information.
