Mon Mar 20 22:55:52 GMT 2017

*CALL FOR PAPERS

*The Seventh Biennial Conference of the RECEPTION STUDY SOCIETY
The Saint Paul Hotel and St. Catherine University
Sept. 21-23, Saint Paul, Minn.

Thursday through Sunday

The Reception Study Society promotes informal and formal exchanges between scholars in several related fields: reader-response criticism and pedagogy, reception history, history of reading and the book, audience and communication studies, institutional studies, and gender, race, ethnic, sexuality, postcolonial, religious, and other studies. We welcome presentations on all aspects of reception studies, but this year we especially encourage papers and panels on the theme: “Feminist Reception: Celebrating Thirty Years,” which commemorates the women’s march on Washington as well as the publication of books like /Gender and Reading/, the anthology by Beth Flynn and Patsy Schweikart, who will be speaking at the conference.

Proposals for panels and papers in any of these areas are now welcome. Please submit proposals of 250 words or less, along with a one-page cv to Daniel Morris at (dmorris /at/ purdue.edu) <mailto:(dmorris /at/ purdue.edu)> by May 15, 2017. Contact Professor Morris at (dmorris /at/ purdue.edu) <mailto:(dmorris /at/ purdue.edu)> with any questions or queries.
