*Call for applications for summer school Digital Traces in a Mediated World*

All day long, mobile and online technology register what we do, how we 
feel, to whom we talk, what we talk about and where we are. More than 
ever before, our daily lives have become digitally mediated. We 
continuously leave digital traces that tell intricate stories about who 
we are, and all of this data is increasingly linked together. If all 
these digital traces are harnessed, they can be used not only to 
understand how people select and are affected by media content, but also 
to increase the success of media practices and products. How can this 
massive amount of data be translated into useful information about the 
way individuals navigate the digital world? In this summer school, 
tomorrow's communication specialists will learn how to capitalise on the 
enormous potential of digital information.

Students will learn novel methodological approaches to exploiting 
massive ubiquitous data; the challenges and solutions associated with 
these approaches; and fundamental issues faced with using digital traces 
to answer communication questions.

The application deadline is 15 April, 2016 and early bird fees apply if 
applications are sent in before 15 February, 2016. More details about
