communicators ».

the professionalization of communicators - Reseau international sur la

This congress is aimed at discussing the link between ethics and
professionalization in the field of communication. Propositions can
discuss different aspects of this subjects, and be linked to three
different dimensions.

1. Ethical training and education of communication professionals. This
section focuses on the analysis of nowadays academic and non-academic
ethical education in the field of communication professions, including
professional training.

2. Rules and norms: codes, charts and ethics. Professionalization is
linked to the existence of ethical codes. Many ethical codes have been
published in the world of communication professions, but they are often
considered as outdated, or simply not used and known by communication
professionals. This section will include papers on production, content
and reception and use of deontological and ethical codes in the field of
communication professions.

3. Ethical decision making in the field of communication professions.
Communication professionals have to decide how to behave in complexe
organizational environments. Businesses and organisations are the field

communication professionals act in these contexts? Paper can have a
normative or an empirical-descriptive approach.
