[ecrea] deadline 15 January 2016 - ECREA CALL for EDITED BOOK PROPOSALS
Mon Jan 04 12:58:18 GMT 2016
CALL for EDITED BOOK PROPOSALS for Wave 13 of the Routledge Studies in
European Communication Research and Education Series
The Series Editors of Wave 13 of the European Communication Research and
Education Association (ECREA), Ilija Tomanić Trivundža, Claudia Alvares,
and Fausto Colombro invite the submission of book proposals for the
Routledge Studies in European Communication Research and Education Series.
WHO is invited to submit?
The Book Series only allows for edited volumes to be included. Proposals
for monographs will not be accepted.
The edited volumes of the Book Series aim at providing a diverse
overview of the work of the ECREA membership. At the same time, a degree
of openness towards non-ECREA members is also considered to add value to
the Book Series. For this reason, at least 50% of the chapters need to
originate from ECREA members (individual members, or members through an
institutional membership. For the same reason, at least one of the
editors needs to be an ECREA member. Please note that ECREA Executive
Board members cannot be editors of the books in ECREA book series, but
can serve as authors of the chapters, while the book series editors
cannot contribute to the content of the books in the ECREA book series
in any way.
WHAT are we seeking?
We are seeking original, previously unpublished work. ECREA Book Series
Publications need to have a very clear theme of focus, which should be
related to the key points of ECREA (as described in article 3 of the
ECREA statutes - see the ECREA website
http://www.ecrea.eu/about/statutes ).
Although the series is open to the wide diversity of disciplines and
subjects present among ECREA members, editorial choices will also take
into account the potential audience of a proposed book.
What is the deadline for submissions?
Proposals need to be sent to the series editors (by email) before 15
January, 2016.
WHO subsidises the publication?
Each year, ECREA subsidises the distribution of one publication to the
membership (2nd year individual members and the coordinators of the
institutional and associated institutional members). The ECREA Book
Series editors will be in charge of selecting this publication. Their
selection will be subject to confirmation by the ECREA Executive Board.
Other publications may also be included in the ECREA Book Series. In
this case, ECREA will not subsidise the distribution of the book to the
membership. The inclusion of the book in the ECREA Book Series will
still be dependent upon the decision of the ECREA Book Series editors
and the Executive Board.
A more detailed version of the procedure is available at the ‘Bylaws’
segment of the ECREA website (
http://www.ecrea.eu/about/statutes#ECREABylaws ).
HOW should one submit a proposal or manuscript?
A form to submit a book proposal is available in the document archive of
the ECREA website (in folder Public documents). Access to the forms:
http://ecrea.eu/archive/folder/id/36
Only this form can be used for submitting a book proposal; applications
that do not use this form will be a priori excluded.
The proposal should include a detailed abstract of each chapter.
TO WHOM should it be sent?
Book proposals and manuscripts can be sent by e-mail (attachment in
.doc, .docx, .rtf, or .pdf format) to (ilija.tomanic /at/ fdv.uni-lj.si) and
(sections /at/ ecrea.eu).
