Dear colleagues,
Faculty of Media, Bratislava School of Law is inviting and encouraging you
to submit abstracts for the international scientific conference MEDIA
TRENDS 2009: TRANSFORMATION OF MEDIA IN SLOVAKIA AND THE COUNTRIES OF
CENTRAL AND EASTERN EUROPE AFTER 1989 Conference will take place 26 - 27
November, 2009 as part of the Fifth Anniversary Celebration of the
establishment of Bratislava School of Law. Co-Organizers are  Slovak
Syndicate of Journalists, Association of Newspapers`; Publishers in
Slovakia, Association of Regional Press Publishers, Association of
Independent Radio and Television Broadcasters.
Conference`s aim is to analyze the evolution of media system in Slovakia
within the context of the media development in countries of post-communist
Central and Eastern Europe after the political change in the of the
1980`s. This analysis will be focused on wide range of legal, economic,
political and social aspects of media systems in various countries. This
conference will be a follow-up to the international conference European
Integration and Transformation of Media in Central and Eastern Europe
which was organized in 1997 by the National Center of Media Communication
in Bratislava together with the European Commission (TAIEX) and in
co-operation with the Ministry of Culture in Slovak Republic.

We invite you to submit abstracts for papers (please submit the abstract
with the attached application form until September 18, 2009) for these
thematic sessions that are related to the broader conference
topic: Legal and Political Aspects of the Development, Structural Aspects
of the Development, Personal and Content Aspects, Economic and
Technological Aspects of the Development

Abstracts will undergo review process. We will inform you about the
outcome by September 21, 2009.
Abstract submission deadline is September 18, 2009, submit to
