MAIN TOPIC AREAS
 
Papers are invited that deal with any aspect of the design, development, deployment, operation, or evaluation of information systems for crisis response and management. Authors should focus on the tools, functionality, and/or interfaces that are being or should be provided to human users involved with crisis response and management.
 
We are particularly interested in new and challenging approaches to the integration of Information Systems into crisis planning and response.
 
Indicative topics of interest are:
 
*    training and simulation systems for crisis response and management;
*    
risk and crisis communication systems, including mobile communication and geographic information systems;
*    business continuity and disaster recovery systems;
*    
systems used by public authorities (city, local, regional or national governments);
 
 
PUBLICATION
 
All accepted papers will be published in Proceedings with ISBN. Selected papers will be invited for submission to a special issue of the International Journal of Emergency Management. In addition, we are talking to several other international journals to publish selected papers from ISCRAM2005 in special issues.

SPECIAL SESSIONS AND ROUND TABLES
 
ISCRAM2005 is inviting proposals for special sessions and round tables. If you would like to propose a session or round table, please notify the organizers as soon as possible but not later than October 15. Proposals should specify the topic and scope of the session or round table, and a short CV of the organizer(s).

The venue of ISCRAM2005 is the Palace of the Royal Flemish Academy of Belgium for Science and the Arts, a magnificent building in the centre of Brussels near the Royal Palace (http://www.kvab.be).
