Applications are invited for the ICA Political Communication Summer School 2026, to be held at the Centre for Democratic Politics, University of Leeds from 13 to 17 July 2026. The Summer School welcomes PhD students and early-career researchers working on any aspect of political communication.

Building on a long-standing international summer school tradition, the programme offers an intensive week of masterclasses, project presentations, and mentoring sessions with an international faculty of leading scholars in the field. Participants will receive detailed feedback on their own research while joining a small, international cohort.

The 2026 faculty includes: Christian Baden, Stephen Coleman, Regina Lawrence, Joerg Matthes, Patricia Moy, Chris Fei Shen, Lone Sorensen, Talia Stroud, Sebastián Valenzuela, and Claes de Vreese.

Applications are considered on a competitive basis. A complete application includes:

  * the online application form,
  * a CV,
  * a research proposal or extended abstract (maximum 3 pages), and
  * a recommendation letter sent directly by an academic referee.
The fee is £550 and covers accommodation at Devonshire Hall from Sunday night to Saturday checkout, as well as all lunches and refreshments. Notification of results will be sent by 15 April 2026.
