The South African Research Chair in Science Communication 
<https://www.imidibaniso.co.za/>, The Academic Citizen 
<https://the-academic-citizen.org/>, and the South African Journal of 
Science <https://sajs.co.za/> invite proposals for the upcoming virtual 
symposium, /Sound Matters/. The symposium seeks to explore how the mode 
of audio offers new possibilities for the dissemination of scientific 
and academic knowledge. Submissions from interdisciplinary perspectives 
focusing on the formation, articulation, and dissemination of knowledge 
through audio as well as audio’s role in knowledge production are welcome.

To participate, please submit in one document a 300-word proposal and a 
100-word biography to (fumanim /at/ sun.ac.za) <mailto:(fumanim /at/ sun.ac.za)> by *9 
October 2023*. Proposals of individual or collaborative contributions, 
panels or showcases of audio scholarship may be submitted. Please note:
