[Commlist] ACOP Methods School on Electoral Survey Analysis
Thu Sep 14 21:05:49 GMT 2023
The Association for Political Communication (ACOP), with the
collaboration of the Jovellanos Faculty of Commerce, Tourism and Social
Sciences of the University of Oviedo (Gijón Campus) and the College of
Political Sciences and Sociology of the Principality of Asturias,
dedicates its third School of Research Methods in Political
Communication to a monographic course on electoral analysis.
From October 25 to 28, 2023, the "Jovellanos" Faculty of Commerce,
Tourism and Social Sciences of Gijón will host the course that is
organized around six workshops of three hours each, taught on three
consecutive days, preceded by an inaugural debate among two pollsters.
The workshops are especially aimed at master's and doctoral students,
university researchers and political marketing consultants.
The course offers the possibility of getting started in electoral
analysis. Participants will learn to access and prepare databases to run
descriptive and inferential analyses. They will also learn the basics of
experimental surveys and machine learning-assisted 'social listening' on
platforms.
The Methods Schools will be taught in Spanish, although the instructors
are fluent in English.
