*JCMR Releases Vol. 15, No. 1, April 2023 edition – 31^st Issue*
We are pleased to announce the release of Volume 15, Number 1, April
2023 issue of the /Journal of Communication and Media Research/ (JCMR),
the Association’s flagship journal. This is the journal’s 31^st issue
since it started publication in 2009. Every issue has been released
regularly and on schedule in April and October of every year plus two
special occasional issues.
The Volume 15, Number 1, April 2023 issue focuses on *Climate Change &
Pandemics, Advertising & Public Relations, Cultural Communication, and
Media Freedom**.*The issue contains 17 articles written by 35 authors
(29 from Nigeria, four from Kenya, one from the United States of
America, and one from Ghana).
Printed hard copies are available for sale while the online versions of
the abstracts and full articles have been uploaded onto our website. All
the Abstracts and Articles of this issue (and all other issues published
from 2009 till date) are available for free access and free download at
our website. Interested readers are free to order for either the print
version or freely download the abstracts and full articles from our

in the Department of Geological Sciences at The University of Alabama.
Her research interests are water science, climate change, contaminant
hydrology and hydrogeology, and water security and management. She is
also passionate about research in Africa.

*Kehinde, Adetola Ayotunde* is a senior research fellow and a doctoral
student at Nobel International Business School, Accra, Ghana. His
research areas of core competence are information management,
information and communication media, and digital communication.
*_KENYA_*
*King’ori, Esther Muthoni Ph.D.* is a communication/media lecturer at
Strathmore University, Kenya. Before joining the academia, Muthoni
worked for various media organisations in Kenya as a news reporter and
editor. Her research interests are in media ethics, media regulation,
film studies, semiotics and media framing.
*Kisila, Sylvester-James Mutua*is a lecturer at USIU-A who teaches
Journalism, Communication, and Film Production Studies. His interests
are in development communication, Broadcast Journalism, and Film
Production and Directing.
*Maina, Robert Rukwaro*is an early career researcher who works in the
Kenyan public school education sector as a High School Tutor. His
research interests span the use of communication tools for driving
social change with specific interest in the use of qualitative research
in health communication.
*Mwangi, Susan Wanja Ph.D.*is a lecturer in the Communication Studies
Department at St. Paul’s University, Kenya and has previously served on
the editorial board of the university journal, The/African
Multidisciplinary Journal./ Her research interests include qualitative
research, language use in media, alternative/community media, and ICT
