Expressions of Interest programme for Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action - Postdoctoral Fellowships (MSCA-PF) 2023

If you work within the research areas of intermediality, multimodality or related fields and are interested in spending 12-24 months as a researcher at the Linnaeus University Centre for Intermedial and Multimodal Studies (IMS) you are welcome to submit a proposal to participate in our MSCA-PF Expression of Interest programme.

The Expression of interest programme is organised in collaboration with our Grants and Innovation Office (GIO). When chosen, you will participate in our MSCA-Master Classes, get support for writing the research application with the aim to conduct a research project at IMS. Linnaeus University Centre for Intermedial and Multimodal Studies is an interdisciplinary research environment that takes a broad medial perspective on questions of narration, meaning making, learning, and truthfulness in art and communication.

We welcome all proposals within our core and thematic research fields but are especially interested in applications that address current social challenges such as knowledge communication, crisis communication related to climate change or other ecological issues, media literacy, digital literacy, and learning in a mediatized society. Research at IMS approaches these social challenges by exploring issues of truthfulness and truth claims in media (including questions such as authenticity, credibility, trust, knowledge regimes and epistemologies), the mediation and mediatization of cultural memory between and across media; archives and (trans)mediation, mediations of the ecological emergency, the role of mainstream and alternative news and journalism in a digitized society, multimodality and learning, learning through media, narration across media and processes of meaning making.

The European Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action - Fellowships are open to
-    Researchers that hold a doctoral degree at the deadline date (13 September 2023). -    Young talents, that have their PhD no longer than three years at deadline date (13 September 2023) with possible extensions for documented long-term leaves. In exceptional cases the maximum age limit can be extended for up to 8 years in total. -    Researcher moving within Europe, as well as those coming in from other parts of the world, as long as one has not lived or worked in Sweden for more than 12 months during the last 3 years (reference date: 13 September 2023).

The grant provides an allowance to cover living, travel, and family costs. In addition, the European Union contributes to the training, networking, and research costs of the fellow, as well as to the management and indirect costs of the project.

Note: The applicant should write the application with the aid of the host organization. If the MSCA-application is successful, the applicant must move to Sweden and work at the premises of Linnaeus University.

We welcome all proposals within IMS research interests.
