Position Summary
Moore College of Art & Design seeks a candidate for a Full-Time Assistant Professor in the Animation and Game Arts (AGA) department with an emphasis in 2D Animation starting in the Fall of 2023. Salary and rank are commensurate with experience and subject to the collective bargaining agreement with Moore Federation of Teachers.
Minimum Qualifications:
A successful candidate for AGA would be a person who has a passion for animation and games, a passion for teaching, and creates a supportive and caring classroom environment for students. Evidence of professional activity and experience is expected. In your cover letter please address the qualifications below, indicate the areas you are most qualified to teach, and any additional skills that you may have.
Required
• Applicant must hold an M.F.A. degree in Animation, Game Arts, Interactive Media, or related field by August 2020 or have relevant professional experience. • Applicants must be knowledgeable in the following software: Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Adobe Animate, After Effects, Premiere Pro)
Preferred
• 2 years of college-level teaching
• Experience with 3D animation software such as Blender or Maya
• Experience with game engines such as Unreal or Unity
• Experience in ToonBoom, Dragon Frame
• Experience with and participation in Animation Film Festivals circuit
• Public Event Planning
• Curriculum Development
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Teach undergraduate courses in campus-based learning environments on a regularly scheduled basis
• Report student attendance and grading electronically on a regular basis
• Prepare course materials and an accurate syllabus for each class each semester • Maintain high expectations of students while providing a supportive and inclusive environment • Ability to use classroom technology such as projectors, SmartBoards, and department-specific software and/or hardware if needed (ex: 3-D printer, laser cutter, engraver, digital embroidery machines, photography and lighting equipment, etc.)
• Properly alert your department chair of illness and need for substitution
