[Commlist] CFP: Sex and Romance in Video Games

We have a CFP ending tomorrow on the theme of 'Sex and Romance in Video
Games'. 300 word (maximum) abstracts required. Send all submissions to
(networkmultiplay /at/ gmail.com)
Final presentations will be 20 minutes long, with 10 minute Q&As at the
end. Conference 15th February 2022 - online and free. Please see details
below.
We ask for submissions to consist of a 300 word (maximum) proposal,
including references using theHarvard reference style guide
<https://www.mendeley.com/guides/harvard-citation-guide/>, as well as a
short author biography of no more than 100 words. These should be
emailed to (networkmultiplay /at/ gmail.com) with the heading ‘Sex and Romance
in Video Games.’
The deadline for submissions is Friday 21st January 2022.
We invite researchers to have fun with this theme. However, we have
provided some prompts (but these should in no way limit your ideas):
* Romancing an avatar
* Finding and clicking the g spot: sex as a (dis)embodied gaming
experience
* Sex-ploitation in video games
* Sex work and playbour
* The art of romance in video games
* Monstrous/cyborg bodies and transformative love
* The amatonormative limits of romance games
* RPG mechanics and the inclusion/erasure of asexual and aromantic
identities
* How video games about colonisation challenge/reinforce racism
through romance plots
* Romantic vs platonic inequality in video game

be hosting 'Sex and Romance in Video Games' with paper presentations on
this theme. Presentations will last twenty minutes, with a ten-minute
